How To Choose The Best Designer Radiator For You

Wednesday August 19, 2009

When it comes to designer radiators, it can be incredibly hard to choose something that really fits the bill. With a normal radiator you just need to make sure you get something that fills the gap you have available to take it. There isn’t a lot else to think about.

But what about a designer radiator? Once you start thinking about buying one of these, you will end up wondering what kind of design you would like the most. And with dozens of different designs available, you have got a lot to consider. Where on earth do you start?

A good place to start is with the rest of your bathroom. If you are re-designing or re-decorating then you should consider what is going to be changed elsewhere first. If you are installing a new bathroom suite for example, you need to think about what colour it will be. Are you going for the more traditional white suite, or would something that is more eye catching fit the bill? This could affect the choice of designer radiator you eventually end up with.

The next point to think about, if you are changing your suite, is whether or not you will end up changing the position of it. If you are, then you might be able to change the position of your radiator as well. This might not seem to make a lot of difference, but it could give you more or less space to accommodate a radiator than you have at the moment. Make sure you know the answer and have accurate measurements to go on before you start shopping for your perfect designer radiator.

Once you get to this stage you need to think about the style and finish you want. Again, thinking about the rest of your bathroom can help enormously when it comes to making that final decision. If you are having stainless steel accents – a stainless steel framed mirror for example, or a medicine cabinet – then perhaps a stainless steel radiator would blend in nicely with these other items.

Don’t forget the other odds and ends you will add too, such as toothbrush holders and small items such as that. Even something as small as this could inspire you to search for a certain design. Take your inspiration from wherever you can; you will benefit from it in the end.

It can sometimes be difficult to imagine the size of something as well. Once you find a radiator you like, make a template of it to hold up against the wall. You can stick some sheets of paper together for this, or perhaps even use some card if you have some. It will give you an idea of how the actual designer radiator will look in your bathroom once it is installed. Don’t leave it until the last minute to wonder whether it might actually look too big for the space!

There are lots of decisions to make here – but if you spend some time thinking about them in advance, you should end up with the perfect designer radiator for you and your bathroom.
