The Benefits Of Panel Designer Radiators

Tuesday September 1, 2009

As soon as you start looking into the world of designer radiators, you will find all kinds of weird and wonderful designs awaiting you. Some of these radiators could almost be works of art in their own right. You certainly won’t want to cover them up by draping a wet towel all over them.

But as there are so many different designs you will find some are better in some situations than others.

A classic example is the panel design radiator. As the name would suggest, this design consists of a flat panel that hugs very close to the wall. It comes in all kinds of sizes but is usually square or rectangular in shape. Similarly you will find that some are designed to sit on the floor, while others are designed to be wall mounted.

The main advantage of a flat panel radiator is the minimum amount of space it takes up when protruding out from the wall. If you don’t have much space in your bathroom and a normal radiator would be too bulky to install, you might think you will have to either put up with it or do without one. But a bathroom is one place where you really do need a radiator.

The flat panel design is a clear solution to this. It can be installed in most positions and because of the variety in sizes and shapes you have actually got more versatility in where to put it. Some of them are long and thin, so they can be placed vertically in a small amount of wall space for example. Alternatively you might want to place it closer to the ground, running along the wall instead of going up it.

The finish of a flat panel radiator also varies. Some of them come in different colours, enabling you to let your radiator blend in with your existing or planned for colour scheme. Stainless steel or mirrored finishes are also exceedingly popular – they will need regular polishing to keep them looking good, but the effort is worth it. The sparkling addition of this kind of flat panel designer radiator to your bathroom will grab the attention of all who see it.

Some of these designs also use a ‘floating’ method to make themselves look as though they aren’t attached to the wall at all. This adds an extra degree of style to the radiator and makes it even more eye catching.

The main thing to consider is whether you want any other radiators in your bathroom before getting this one. The best example would be a towel radiator. Make sure you order just the right sizes of each and figure out where they will be placed in the room. This will ensure they don’t clash with each other, or be too close for any reason.

As you can see, the flat panel radiator can solve the problem of providing heat when you don’t have too much space to spare. And it looks far better than any standard radiator too!
